Mark Maybank is President and Chief Operating Officer of Canaccord’s Canadian operations, overseeing both the Wealth Management and Institutional businesses. He is also the Chief Operating Officer of the Canaccord Financial group comprising its US, UK and International businesses.
Before joining Canaccord, Mr. Maybank was Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development at a technology services and software development firm with interests in venture capital and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, he was a Technology Analyst with Yorkton Securities and Chief Financial Officer of a US-based cellular services company. He has also held various positions with a large multi-national accounting and consulting firm which included cross-border taxation and valuation advisory. Mr. Maybank is also Co-Chair of Gold Medal Plates, a Canadian Olympic Committee-endorsed charity focused on athletic development in Canada.
Mr. Maybank has earned both his Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator designations.

Mark Lucey joined Canaccord Financial’s institutional equities team in July 2004. He currently serves as Co-Head of Canadian Research.
Prior to Canaccord, Mark was the Managing Director and Head of Technology Research at TD Newcrest, as well as a highly ranked telecom equipment and high technology analyst. He has a strong entrepreneurial history, including experience running his own advisory firm and participating as a founding shareholder of institutional equities boutique, Kearns Capital. In addition, he spent 13 years with Nortel Networks in a variety of increasingly senior roles in engineering, marketing and finance. Mark holds a BASc from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering. Mark is also a CFA charterholder.

He began his career in the finance industry in 1987 and quickly established himself among the top three metals and mining analysts in Australia before moving to London with Credit Suisse First Boston in 2001 as Global head of Metals and Mining research.
His experience in the mining and metals industry includes work with the Canadian mining consultants Watts Griffis and McOuat focused on base metal and gold project evaluation, before moving into the iron ore industry at one of BHP Billiton's operations in Australia. He left the iron ore industry as Head of the Exploration and Resource Development Division and took up a position in Saudi Arabia with the Directorate General of Mineral Resources as Senior Principal Economic Geologist.

Dvai Ghose serves as Co-Head of Canadian Research and Telecommunications, Cable and Media Research Analyst at Canaccord Genuity. Previously, Dvai served in the same capacity at Genuity Capital Markets. He was the equity analyst covering Telecom and Cable Services at CIBC World Markets from 1999 to 2006 and at HSBC Securities from 1996 to 1999. Dvai has been ranked the number one Canadian Telecom and Cable Services Analyst by Brendan Woods International for the last three years. Stephen Buell joined Canaccord Genuity in May of 2010 as managing director and director of U.S. Equity Research. In this role, Buell leads a team of 32 research professionals focusing on growth companies in the energy, technology, life sciences, consumer and sustainability sectors. The U.S. based analysts at Canaccord Genuity currently track more than 260 companies in these five key areas.
His prior experience includes serving as head of investment research at Piper Jaffray. Previously, Steve served as director of research at Thomas Weisel Partners. He has also held similar positions at Prudential Equity Group and Dreyfus Corporation.
Steve holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester, School of Medicine and a BA in Biology from the University of Colorado.

Gary joined Canaccord as a Senior Analyst after more than six years with CSFB in Australia and London, during which time he focused on mining equity analysis and mineral commodity analysis. Gary entered the finance industry in 1998, after almost 15 years of experience in the natural resources industries, initially in engineering roles and with a focus on project development in Indonesia. He left Indonesia as Chief Field Engineer for the main contractor at Freeport Indonesia's New Town / Kuala Kencana regional development program. He graduated with a BE in civil engineering from Monash University in Australia. Gary also holds a Masters degree in mineral economics from the Colorado School of Mines in the USA and an MBA from Deakin University in Australia.

Eric Zaunscherb joined Canaccord in September 2008. He has over 20 years – and three cycles -- of experience as a mining analyst, including seven years with his own independent research firm. He has also worked for a number of well-known Canadian investment dealers, most recently with Haywood Securities and Raymond James as Vice President, Mining Equities. As a geologist Mr. Zaunscherb designed and implemented mineral exploration programs in diverse North American environments. Irene Haas joined the firm as a principal in Canaccord’s Energy Team in 2006, covering US domestic energy from our Houston office. Previously, Irene covered E&P stocks at SandersMorris Harris and worked in Morgan Stanley's Energy Team in Houston. Prior to that, she worked for 13 years as an exploration geophysicist for Exxon, developing leads and prospects in Algeria, Central Africa, Alaska and Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Prior to joining Canaccord Genuity, Phil was a Principal and Senior Oil and Gas Analyst at Genuity Capital Markets. Phil joined Genuity in July 2005 to start up the firm’s oil and natural gas research efforts focusing on the large cap Canadian E&Ps and oil sands sectors. Prior to joining Genuity, he was a vice president and senior equity research analyst at Lehman Brothers in New York, where he spent six years covering the Canadian exploration and production, oil sands and royalty trust sectors for Lehman’s Institutional Investor ranked oil and gas team. Phil was amongst the first U.S.-based analysts to focus on the Canadian oil sands and the first to cover the Canadian royalty trust sector. Prior to his work at Lehman Brothers, Phil was an associate analyst for over two years at CIBC World Markets in Houston, Texas assisting in coverage of the small/mid-cap U.S. exploration and production sector. He is originally from the United States, and earned his BA in Economics from Bethany College and his MBA from Texas Christian University.

Jonathan (Jed) serves as Principal, Sr. Equity Analyst at Canaccord. By leveraging his knowledge of compound semiconductors and device physics, Jed has differentiated his research from the Street by identifying emerging trends such as Solid State Lighting and Solar. Through bottom-up analysis and tireless market diligence, Jed has built a franchise known for fundamental research and credited with identifying key companies within that show the greatest promise of maintaining or disrupting incumbent technologies. Jed also serves as an Advisory Board Member for Quanlight and Group IV Semiconductor, and acts as a lighting advisor to the William J. Clinton Foundation's Climate Initiative focused on reducing Greenhouse gas emissions. Jed graduated from Bentley College with a B.S. in Finance and has attended classes at both Harvard University and Boston University's School of Engineering, completing coursework in Analog and Digital Circuit Design, as well as Material Sciences.

Ritu Baral first joined Canaccord as Senior Research Associate in Biotechnology in August 2007. She has over seven years of experience in biotechnology finance, including over three years in biotechnology equity research. Previously, Ritu was biotechnology equity research associate at JMP Securities and before that was a Senior Associate at the Trout Group, a biotechnology focused investor relations agency. Prior to this, Ritu was a research associate at Columbia University's Department of Medicine where she participated in neuroendocrine research focused on appetite and metabolism regulation, and completed graduate coursework in Immunology.
