Michael Manford is the Executive Chairman of Canaccord Genuity Australia. Prior to 2019, Mr Manford was Executive Chairman and CEO of Patersons Securities Limited, one of Australia's largest independently owned, full-service stockbroking firm. He is a highly regarded industry practitioner, with over 44 years experience in all facets of the finance industry.
Mr Manford joined Patersons in 1979 and was appointed Executive Director in 1985, Managing Director in 1991 and Executive Chairman in 1994.
Mr Manford has had a strong association with the Australian Stock Exchange, having held a variety of professional positions including Chairman of Patersons Asset Management in 2007, Australian Clearing House Disciplinary and Appeal Tribunal Panel Member, Australian Stock Exchange Settlement & Transfer Corporation Disciplinary & Appeal Panel Member and many others.
Mr Manford is a past Member of ASIC’s Markets Disciplinary Panel and a member of the ASX Code of Practice Forum.
Mr Manford’s prior experience also includes Director of the Securities and Derivatives Industry Association (now Stockbrokers Association of Australia) from 1998 to 2005, BDO Financial Planning, Director of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Councillor of the Australian Business Arts Foundation, Board member of the Telethon Institute for Child Health and a Board member of St Hilda’s School.
Mr Manford is currently a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Master Stockbroking Member of The Stockbrokers of Australia and a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.
