Inheritance Tax Portfolio Service

What is the Inheritance Tax Portfolio Service?

Our Inheritance Tax Portfolio Service is a bespoke, discretionary service designed to reduce inheritance tax (IHT) while providing growth potential to enhance your legacy.

How does it work?

Your IHT liability can be reduced by investing in a diversified portfolio of established companies selected from the London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market (AIM).

Under current tax rules, shares in certain companies trading on AIM are treated as ‘business property’ and are eligible for a tax relief known as Business Property Relief (BPR). Once these AIM shares have been held for a period of two years, they are no longer considered part of an estate in the IHT calculation (so long as they are still held on death).

Your IHT Portfolio is actively managed, so if we no longer deem the underlying investments suitable or they are no longer eligible for Business Property Relief, we can sell them and reinvest the proceeds into another qualifying company without the two year period restarting.

Important Information

Investment means that your capital is at risk and the value of investments can fall, therefore you may get back less than you invested. Past performance is no guide to future performance. There is no guarantee that the tax efficient nature of any investment will remain.
