Expanding our US Futures Capability

In our efforts to ensure that we have market-leading capabilities and resources to help our clients maximize capital efficiency in increasingly dynamic markets, we pleased to announce the expansion of our Futures trading capability with two veteran hires in the US.

Philip Ruffat joins as Managing Director and Head of US Futures Group, with responsibility for the overall institutional expansion of the futures capability in our US capital markets business. He brings over 27 years of senior futures experience at large banks including Citigroup, Mizuho, ABN AMRO, Société Générale, Sumitomo Mitsui (predecessor) and most recently at BTIG LLC. Philip holds Series 3, 7, 30, and 63 licenses. He obtained a BS in Finance and Economics from Penn State University and has also completed studies at Northwestern Kellogg School of Business. Outside of work, he sits on the Illinois advisory board of America Needs You, a national non-profit focused on empowering first-generation college students. 

Holly Liss, CMT joins as Managing Director and Head of US Futures Execution Services.  Holly joins CG with over 30 years of senior futures experience at large banks including Citigroup, Mizuho, ABN AMRO, Société Générale, Sumitomo Mitsui (predecessor), First Chicago, and most recently at BTIG LLC. Holly is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Finance. She holds Series 3, 7, and 63 licenses, and is a Chartered Market Technician (CMT). Holly is well known for providing best-in-class analysis, perspective, and predictions on moves in the futures market, and has frequently been invited to provide market commentary as a guest on major financial news networks including Bloomberg Markets and CNBC.

Philip and Holly bring vast technical, fundamental, hedging and idea generation capabilities and bring an excellent complement to CG’s global trading team of 150+ professionals, who provide a range of high-touch and electronic execution services across multiple asset classes in over 47 countries.
