Jim joined Canaccord Genuity in 2025 as a Managing Director to expand our coverage in the Software sector within our U.S. Investment Banking platform. With over 25 years of software and technology investment banking experience gained in Silicon Valley, New York, and London, Jim brings deep knowledge and experience to CG.
Prior to joining CG, Jim co-led the Software team at Stifel which he had joined through its 2019 acquisition of Mooreland Partners. Before joining the Mooreland partnership, Jim was a Partner at Arma Partners and led all aspects of its U.S. technology M&A business in Palo Alto and was a senior banker at Lehman Brothers in New York, London, and Menlo Park.
With over 100+ Software sell-side M&A transactions, Jim has closed over $35 billion in M&A and financing for software and technology companies globally.
Jim graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in Systems Engineering and has an MBA from Yale University.
