Jane Norman is one of the UK's fastest growing and most profitable fashion retailers, offering desirable and affordable own label clothing to its core target audience of fashion-conscious young women. The product range focuses on a feminine and "clubby" look and includes both a broad range of fashion-led garments and increasingly accessories such as bags, jewellery, sunglasses, belts, as well as swimwear and lingerie.

As at March 2005, Jane Norman operated from 38 solus stores and 54 concessions (situated mainly within the Debenhams department store network).

Jane Norman was the subject of a management buy-out in January 2003, led by the Chief Executive, Saj Shah and backed by Graphite Capital. Saj had initiated the rapid nationwide expansion of the business when the Company's founder, Norman Freed, retired in 1994. At the time of the Buy-Out Jane Norman had 25 solus stores and 21 concessions.

Canaccord Genuity acted as sole financial advisor to Graphite Capital and the shareholders of Jane Norman.
