The hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm PST. This is a full time, 3 months contractual role.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Management of all aspects CDS Buy-in Activity:
  • Buy-in activity including submitting intents and executions on CDS system and advising IA’s and Trade Support of buy-in warnings and executions; 
  • Inventory management including requests for stock borrows as required;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Assisting Domestic Settlements Supervisor and colleagues as required.

Skills & Qualifications:
 
  • 1-3 years brokerage industry or equivalent financial industry experience;
  • Detail-oriented with ability to work well under pressure;

Responsibilities:
 

  • Coordinate and execute a targeted digital and social media marketing program aimed at identifying and qualifying potential investors. A range of investment products may include stocks, bonds and insurance related investment products and strategies;
  • Copy writing experience, content creation for marketing material, e-newsletters and the website;

The Senior Business Analyst will work with the IT Business Services team and will be involved in a variety of tasks that are focused on delivering change improvements to systems and processes for Canaccord Genuity’s business groups.  

The Senior Business Analyst will interact with internal and external client groups, including business stakeholders, management, IT specialists and vendors.  This role requires a high degree of collaboration while working on concurrent change initiatives.  Strong competencies are needed in all stages of business analysis; including project management from the investigation of business requirements to the successful implementation of system and process changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with business sponsors to capture process workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements;
  • Identify and document problem statements, impact assessments, success factors, constraints and potential risks associated with the initiation of a project;
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process analysis, use cases or user stories, task and workflow analysis;
  • Write requirements specifications for internal and external development teams; utilizing standard templates, using natural language simply, clearly and concisely;
  • Perform requirements analysis and verification to ensure requirement statements are complete, consistent, traceable, feasible, verifiable and that they conform to standards;
  • Coordinate requirements validation activities to confirm that a solution based on the documented requirements will meet the business needs and achieve the identified objectives;
  • Prepare test plans and document test scripts for validating that developed solutions accurately address identified requirements;
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including operations manuals, service level agreements, and team knowledge bases;
  • Capture and document operation’s transition plans for post-implementation of a solution;
  • Become familiar with various Canaccord Genuity business unit processes and applications for the purpose of providing recommendations of potential improvements and/or provide assistance to IT Operations with application issue resolution;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • 5 to 7 years of business analysis experience in the financial services industry;
  • Post-secondary education/certification in business-related and technical disciplines; 
  • Skilled in business process redesign, with complex business models and technology;
  • Experience working with APIs is preferred;
  • High proficiency with MS Office applications; 
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to grasp abstract concepts;

Responsibilities:

Accounting, Bookkeeping & Taxes

  • General Ledger activities in Quickbooks – maintain chart of accounts, upload journal entries, etc.
  • Expenses: organize / archive backup files in a paperless environment, summarize and upload to QB, assist with processing payments;
  • Perform monthly and annual accounting activities including: update period close working papers, bank and GL account reconciliations, internal audits, and reviewing financial reports;
  • Participate in the creation, implementation and adherence to internal controls.

Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare & maintain accurate and updated financial statements;
  • Ad hoc reporting on specific GL accounts;
  • Be a “gate keeper” to help reduce costs, improve efficiencies and enhance profitability;

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Hold an undergraduate or bachelor’s degree; preference to accounting, finance or economics;
  • CPA designation or strong CPA Candidate preferred; other financial designations also considered;
  • Minimum 1-2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience. Related finance / financial services experience would also be considered;
  • Competent performing reconciliations in MS Excel and some experience with accounting programs would be helpful; 
  • Tech-savvy - We move quick and document all activities; we over-communicate across multiple platforms simultaneously – WhatsApp, Slack, Salesforce plus the usual channels.

Training & Support:
  • Provide IAs with support on our Financial Planning software Naviplan;

Skills & Qualifications:

Working closely with a team of eighteen finance professionals in an open office environment, you will be provided with mentoring and training to ensure you fully understand the way our business is conducted. Responsibilities:
  • Associate Investment Advisor to the Cash Management Group and associates;
  • Initiate leads and cold calls to prospective clients;
  • Deliver in-person presentations to prospective clients;
  • Maintenance of client relationships;
  • Prepare and validate investment order entries;
  • Prepare new client account opening documents;
  • Perform data entry and follow up with clients via phone and email;
  • Provide ad hoc administrative support.
 
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Valid license with IIROC required;
  • An undergraduate degree or higher level of education;
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience as a licensed Investment Advisor;
  • Willing and eager to make cold calls;
  • Experience with rejection in sales;
  • High level of professionalism;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Attention to detail is a must with the ability to articulate clearly;
  • Self-starter attributes, motivated and hardworking;
  • Adaptability to work in a constantly changing and highly demanding environment;
  • Vibrant and professional demeanor;
  • Able to present a polished appearance in a formal business environment;
  • Comfortable using cloud and Android applications: WhatsApp, Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs,) Box, Salesforce, LinkedIn, and Slack.
