Working with one of the top investment team here in Vancouver, managing a portfolio of over $1 billion in assets, the successful candidate’s role will support a team of Portfolio Managers in establishing and maintaining strong client relationships.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Assist Investment Advisor with processing and confirming client transactions;
  • Deal directly with clients, provide quotes and execute trading orders;
  • Perform company research and compile statistical information and reports;
  • Process and follow-up on client documentation for proper maintenance of accounts;
  • Assist with servicing existing clients;
  • Perform additional administrative duties as required.
 
Skills & Qualifications:
 
  • Completion of CSC and CPH Investment Representative (IR) or Registered Representative (RR) licensing approval with IIROC an asset;
  • 2-5 years of related experience, with a well-rounded knowledge of the securities industry;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and multi-task;
  • Ability to work independently, and effectively with employees and clients at all levels;
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative;
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills: good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs;
  • Knowledge of Dataphile an asset.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Work with the key stakeholders of the business area to develop a solid knowledge base of their business services products and processes;
  • Investigate, analyze and document business process and system change requirements;
  • Perform workflow analysis that identifies change improvement solutions;

Skills & Qualifications:

Our Canadian operations are looking for a Sr. Internal Auditor to join the organization. The successful candidate will have previous experience auditing ICFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting), and an understanding of the brokerage industry. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Internal Audit. This is a 16-month full time contract. 

Responsibilities:
  • Independently complete advanced or complex financial, operational or compliance audits using a risk-based methodology and in a manner that adheres to IIA and department standards;
  • Assess and report on control design and effectiveness and identify, assess and report on deficiencies by testing performance of controls against company policies, external regulations and accounting requirements;
  • Liaise with external auditors to provide support for ICFR internal control assessments, identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce duplication of efforts;
  • Ensure audit work is supported through appropriate and complete working papers that adhere to IIA and department standards within two weeks of fieldwork completion;
  • Prepare audit findings and recommendations through written memos or audit reports that mitigate risk, improve operations and reduce costs. Reports should be written in a format that can be delivered directly to Executive Management and the Board;
  • Monitor, validate and report on the implementation status of management action plans resulting from audit engagements and internal control assessments on a quarterly basis;
  • Provide advisory services, investigations and other ad hoc projects as and when required;
  • Provide effective communication and education of the internal control policies and procedures to various levels of management;
  • Provide support to the business to implement operational improvements and to ensure consistency with accounting policies and GAAP;
  • Manage and maintain relationships with internal/external clients;
  • Coach team members in areas where the candidate is the subject matter expert;
  • Ensures to uphold the company’s core principles of conduct of being Accountable, Aligned and Approachable.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Professional accounting and/or audit designation required (CIA, CPA, CMA, CGA or CA) with minimum 3 – 5 years of post-qualification experience in an audit role;
  • CISA designation and/or knowledge of IT audit procedures considered a significant asset;
  • Strong analytical experience with finance and internal controls background preferred;
  • Knowledge of ICFR (NI 52-109) and COSO framework required;
  • Knowledge of the brokerage industry considered a significant asset;
  • Strong ability to identify risks and recommend cost-effective internal controls;
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Must be able to interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and at different levels within the organization;
  • Must be proficient in internal audit standards;
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of working on an audit management software would be an asset;

  • Book all required travel (accommodations, flights, car rental, reservations);
  • Provide positive customer experience when answering the phone and greeting clients;

Skills & Qualifications:
  • An undergraduate degree or higher level of education;
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years’ of similar executive assistant experience;

Responsibilities:
 
  • Perform analysis of in-house equity research and external research daily;
  • Attend Equity Research conference calls for exposure and take Minutes when appropriate;
  • Attend Company marketing meetings and produce commentary;
  • Create company specific and industry overviews daily;
  • Responsible for creating Canaccord’s morning research report highlighting investment strategies, stock analysis, and global market update;
  • Coordinate, communicate, and work closely with senior individuals across various groups;
  • Update portfolio holdings across different platforms.
 
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding of the Capital Markets and various asset classes; deepen knowledge of investment products across the equities and fixed-income landscape;
  • Direct experience with and a solid understanding of financial modeling and valuation analysis;
  • Market knowledge with portfolio management experience an asset, but not required;
  • Superior Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Bloomberg skills;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Ability to write well a must-have;
  • Ability to summarize research reports and identify key ideas in the overall investment thesis;
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong verbal communication skills and comfort engaging all levels of firm management;
