Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently looking for a Senior Institutional Compliance Officer – KYC & Account Documentation to join their Capital Markets Compliance Team to support the account opening process as well as the Control Room function.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve new and updated Institutional client applications to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures;
  • Act as a subject matter expert providing advice and support to the business on KYC and account documentation;
  • Assist in performing control room functions as necessary, including grey and restricted list administration;
  • Assist with e-mail, sales literature and Research reviews;
  • Support the research, investment banking, equity capital markets, deal origination, and syndication business areas; 
  • Assist with time-sensitive tasks promptly to avoid regulatory scrutiny and/or penalties;
  • Assist in the development of compliance processes & procedures to remain compliant with regulatory requirements to prevent regulatory penalties;
  • Research, prepare and implement responses to regulatory inquiries;
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the securities industry, with a solid understanding of IIROC regulations;
  • Strong working knowledge of anti-money laundering regulations;
  • Experience and knowledge of legal documentation requirements for institutions, corporations, trusts and other legal entities;
  • Completion of or willingness to complete the Canadian Securities Course, Partners, Directors & Officers Exam, and other compliance related courses offered by the Canadian Securities Institute;
  • Previous experience with drafting new processes and procedures;
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, with previous experience with Dataphile/Broadridge applications;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment;
  • Ability to take initiative, and adapt to change; 
  • Client service orientation with the ability to deal with difficult situations and demonstrate flexibility;
  • Excellent teamwork, co-operation and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong organizational and information seeking skills; with the ability to problem-solve and demonstrate sound judgment.

Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently looking for a looking for a knowledable and dynamic Institutional Equity Sales individual to join our Institutional Equity Sales Team. The ideal candidate will be from capital markets or technical background and have proven experience and understanding of the mining sector.

Responsibilities:
 

  • The ideal candidate should be able to function within a team environment and be able to manage the marketing, conference calls, meetings, etc. with corporate clients;
  • Liaise closely with the mining research team to refine and present investment ideas to Institutional Investors;
  • Develop relationships with institutional portfolio managers and convey investment insights (both written and orally) regarding the mining sector;
  • Managing the onboarding of new clients, both institutional and corporate;
  • Involved in the preparation of daily mining sales notes and select joint mining research publications;
  • Construct and maintain databases, comp tables, and financial models;
  • Ensure that client queries are responded to in a prompt and polite manner, so as to maintain the relationship with the client and the reputation of the firm.


Skills & Qualifications:
 
  • An undergraduate degree in a mining-related discipline is required
  • Experience within the mining the sector is highly desirable
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Capital Markets environment is a benefit
  • A strong understanding of the mining sector and knowledge of industry event impacts on equity valuations
  • Excellent communications skills combined with the ability to build and foster relationships across multiple platforms
  • Ability to develop new clients through a combination of research and sales techniques
  • The ability to function within a dynamic team environment

Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent organizational, communication and computer skills along with the ability to prioritize a complex and busy workload to join our International Trading support team.  Please note this position requires early start times. 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Administration of syndication deals;
  • Process and ticket syndication deals through IDEAL;
  • Reconciling and settling new issue deals;
  • Manage settlement issues with our operations department in Vancouver;
  • Assist Traders with processing and confirming client transactions;

Skills & qualifications:

  • Ability to solve and think through new problems as they present themselves in a fast paced trading environment;

Overview of Role: 
Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently looking for a Director, M&A who will focus on the TMT sector be a critical member of our high-performing, entrepreneurial team.  They will collaborate with appropriate in-house departments to identify, build, oversee and complete transactions. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for idea generation, sourcing, executing and closing all different forms of M&A transactions, including the day-to-day management of all facets of the transaction, as well as corresponding client relationships;
  • Lead and oversee complex financial modeling, valuation and other analyses and provide corresponding recommendations to internal and client stakeholders;
  • Play a lead role in the execution of client transactions including acting as the central point of contact for the deal team and client team members as appropriate throughout a transaction;
  • Maintain responsibility for the overall information and communication flow on deal teams;
  • Forge, build and maintain long-term client relationships in the context of providing high quality, independent M&A advisory services alongside dedicated sector expertise;
  • Applies analytical thinking to creatively address ambiguous situations to determine solutions;
  • Reinforce and expand on the firm’s existing strengths within the North American TMT sector, while also supporting other sectors, including healthcare and diversified;
  • Builds positive client relations at all levels through deep/comprehensive understanding of client needs and alignment of our services.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven self-starter with a team-first mentality and a track record of successfully leading and mentoring junior bankers
  • 8 – 10 years of M&A investment banking experience with a sector focus within TMT is highly preferred;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to succinctly communicate the results and implications of complex analyses to internal and client representatives.
  • Problem solving and negotiation skills with data driven decision-making;
  • Well-developed interpersonal, teamwork and relationship building skills in order to develop, manage and leverage relationships with clients, and internal and/or external business partners.
  • Ability to advise client effectively with working knowledge of all related securities rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Ethics, professionalism and proven ability to practice strong independent judgement when making business decisions.
