Canaccord Genuity in the community
At Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management we are driven by an unwavering commitment to building long-term relationships with our clients and the community. We recognise the benefits of an active lifestyle in relation to mental wellbeing and performance in the workplace and so #cando has become the overarching theme for all our sporting corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity.
Despite the outbreak of COVID-19, we are keeping up our #cando activities while we're in lock down and working from home. Through a series of active and wellbeing videos, we're encouraging our colleagues, clients, business contacts and the community to stay motivated and moving. To join in, click here #wecandothis.
#cando = Can(accord) + ‘do’
The definition of ‘can do’ in the Oxford English dictionary is ‘having or showing a determination or willingness to take action and achieve results’.
#cando employee challenge
In 2018 and 2019 we challenged our colleagues to get active and raise money so we could make a #cando-themed charitable donation. The aim was to log enough miles between us to travel 1,280 miles in one year – the distance between all our offices around the UK and Crown Dependencies. In 2018, we racked up a phenomenal 125,166 miles (five times around the world!) through various activities, from running and walking to cycling and swimming. Fast forward to March 2020, when we all found ourselves wording from home with restricted access to outdoor activities, we brought our 2019 challenge to an early close and in April launched our 2020 #cando challenge which is about the time we spend getting fit and staying active.
