CMGI has sold Yesmail to infoUSA
Petsky Prunier is pleased to announce that CMGI has sold Yesmail, a leading provider of email customer retention and acquisition solutions, to infoUSA.
InfoUSA said the acquisition of Yesmail will expand the company's existing email management and automation products. The Yesmail business is comprised of two parts: an email deployment and automation technology business, located in San Francisco, and an email brokerage and management business, based in Chicago.
According to infoUSA, Ed Henrich, who has been a senior executive with Yesmail, will serve as president of the San Francisco operations. Ed Mallin, president of Walter Karl, infoUSA's List Management and Brokerage division, will run the Chicago division of Yesmail.
"CMGI is focusing on fewer businesses where it can sustain market leadership," said George A. McMillan, president and chief executive officer of CMGI, in a statement. "It became apparent that Yesmail, as our sole business in e-mail brokerage and management, would benefit from an alliance with a larger direct marketing company."
A team from Petsky Prunier LLC led by Michael Petsky and Sanjay Chadda served as exclusive financial advisor to CMGI and structured and negotiated the transaction on behalf of the Company.
