Collins Stewart Strengthens Oil & Gas Equity Research Team with Appointment of Jamie Maddock

Collins Stewart, a leading independent investment bank, is pleased to announce the further strengthening of its Oil & Gas equity research capability with the appointment of Jamie Maddock from Brewin Dolphin Investment Banking.

Jamie joins Collins Stewart’s Oil & Gas team, which is headed by Gordon Gray, one of the industry’s most experienced and highly regarded Global Oil & Gas analysts formerly of JP Morgan. The Oil & Gas research team will develop coverage of the sector from the integrated oil majors through to oil services and exploration and production (E&P) companies.

Jamie has a strong academic background in the sector. He has a degree in Geology and Petroleum Geology from the University of Aberdeen and a PhD in Geophysics, specifically investigating theoretical and experimental seismology in oil and gas exploration, from the University of Leeds. At Collins Stewart, he will leverage his comprehensive understanding of reservoir architecture, advanced seismic attribute analysis and sedimentology.

Collins Stewart has made several senior hires to its equity research team since July 2008, demonstrating its commitment to strengthening its research capabilities. Hires include Ben Cohen from UBS who joins as an insurance analyst, Gordon Gray as a senior global Oil & Gas analyst from JP Morgan, Paul Leyland from Arbuthnot as a Leisure and Gaming analyst, Imran Akram from Deutsche Bank to cover construction materials and Aaron Guy from Bear Stearns to cover Real Estate.
