Collins Stewart appoints leading Oil & Gas analyst Gordon Gray

Collins Stewart, a leading independent investment bank, is pleased to announce the further strengthening of its equity research team with the appointment of Gordon Gray to lead Collins Stewart’s Oil & Gas research. Gordon, who joins Collins Stewart from JPMorgan, is one of the industry’s most experienced and highly regarded Global Oil & Gas analysts, having spent sixteen years following the sector. He will build an Oil & Gas research team at Collins Stewart to develop coverage of the sector from the integrated oil majors through to oil services and exploration and production (E&P) companies.

As JPMorgan’s Global Sector Leader for Oil & Gas research, Gordon coordinated its global research efforts and had direct responsibility for coverage of the European integrated oils, oil services and refining sectors. In addition he was the joint-lead analyst on JPMorgan’s biggest ever IPO, Rosneft, in 2006. Prior to his eight years with JPMorgan, Gordon was an Oil & Gas analyst at Salomon Inc/Citigroup from 1992-2000. Gordon began his career in industry as a mining engineer working on underground precious metals production. Before taking up a role in Oil & Gas research he also worked as a mining analyst and completed an MBA at Cranfield School of Management.

Gordon’s appointment demonstrates Collins Stewart's commitment to strengthening its research capabilities. It follows the recent hires of Imran Akram from Deutsche Bank to cover construction materials and AaronGuy from Bear Stearns to cover Real Estate.
