Collins Stewart builds mining team

Collins Stewart, a leading independent financial advisory group, is pleased to announce the strengthening of its Securities and Corporate Broking divisions with the formation of a mining team incorporating equity research, sales and corporate broking.

The new team is headed by John McGloin and also comprises Tim Dudley and Andrei Kroupnik in equity research, John Prior in corporate broking and Matt Hasson in specialist sales. The team will build Collins Stewart’s mining franchise by providing corporate broking advice to UK and international mining companies and equity research to institutions.

John McGloin - Head of the Mining Team

John has over 20 years' experience in the mining industry, working as an exploration geologist and directly in production before becoming an industry consultant conducting resource evaluation. Having worked as an analyst for 8 years with brokers including Beeson Gregory and Evolution Securities, his team was ranked number 3 in the Extel ratings and was broker to the two largest Gold companies listed in London at the time.

Tim Dudley – Mining Analyst

As a former mining engineer, Tim started his career in the base metal and coal mining industry in 1998, gaining a range of operational, technical and project development experience. Tim entered equity research in 2006 following 7 years at Anglo American's coal division in Australia.

Andrei Kroupnik – Mining Analyst

Andrei, a fluent Russian speaker, brings significant equity research and industry experience to the team. He started his career in the gold and base metal mining industry in 2000, before joining RBC Capital Markets as a research associate then moving to Renaissance Capital in 2008 as a mining analyst based in Moscow.

Subsequently Andrei headed up the Mergers and Acquisitions department of Polymetal, a $5bn dual listed Russian miner.

John Prior – Corporate Broking

John has 10 years of investment banking experience focused on the Mining sector, most recently with Arbuthnot Securities where he was responsible for looking after the firm’s 11 corporate mining clients ranging in size from the FTSE 100 to the AIM market.

Matt Hasson – Specialist Sales

Matt has been a salesman with a focus on the resources sector since 2002. He started his career with Hoodless Brennan, which he followed with time at Hitchens Harrison and Arbuthnot Securities.
