Promotions at Hawkpoint

04 January 2005

Hawkpoint is pleased to announce that it has promoted 10 members of staff. The most senior of these promotions is that of Hugh Elwes, from Director to Managing Director. Hugh joined Hawkpoint’s financial institutions team from Deutsche Bank in 2002 and has played a leading role on a number of important transactions this year including the sale of Pantheon to the Russell Group, the sale of Chiswell to Sarasin and the demerger and re-listing of Chesnara plc, the first pure play life run off to receive a new listing in the UK.

Jonathan Coddington, Vinay Ghai, Myles Pink and Pierre-Arnaud de Lacharriere (who is in Hawkpoint’s Paris office), have all been promoted to Director as a result of their outstanding contributions to the firm. In addition, Michael Barnes joined in September from CIBC as a Director to enhance Hawkpoint’s debt advisory capabilities.

Hawkpoint has also promoted five Associates to Associate Director.

Paul Baines, Hawkpoint’s Managing Partner, commented“:

'2004 was a very strong year for Hawkpoint across our practice areas. We gained several new retained clients and experienced a significant uplift in deal flow and scale. We expect activity to increase through 2005 and are continuing to develop the business to reinforce and capture this growth. A lot of good work has been put in over the past few years, the benefits of which are now becoming apparent. We are very pleased that these promotions recognise the significant development of these individuals and the firm as a whole.”'
