#InspireInclusion

CG Celebrates Women

In recognition of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, the call to #InspireInclusion extends beyond our workplaces and challenges each of us to find our own ways to help accelerate gender equality and empower women and girls in all aspects of life.

What/Who has been the greatest contributor to your success thus far?

My ability to build relationships. It has been very important for me to learn from others’ experiences and how they might translate to my own role. Throughout my career I have learnt the most from the people around me.

How do you approach your relationship with mentors and sponsors from people within your organization or beyond?

Being open and transparent will help you earn trust from others, which helps to create a bigger support system. People tend to come to HR when they don’t know who else to ask, and it gives me a real sense of fulfillment to be able to use my own network to help others.

How would you like to see others inspire inclusion?

Seeing leaders and mangers lead by example and foster an environment where there are equal opportunities for people to share their views and perspectives. It’s also essential to create a safe space for discussions about diversity and inclusion.

What is one piece of practical advice you would give to someone starting out in your business?

Prioritise building relationships, ask lots of questions, and listen actively. When confronted with a problem, approach it by thinking about how you might get the best from the situation.
