#InspireInclusion

CG Celebrates Women

In recognition of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, the call to #InspireInclusion extends beyond our workplaces and challenges each of us to find our own ways to help accelerate gender equality and empower women and girls in all aspects of life.

What/Who has been the greatest contributor to your success thus far?

Probably the combination of being persistent while open to pivot fast. Even though these two concepts may seem in contrast to each other, this is the definition of resilience. Running a biotech company requires the grit to pursue your innovative vision, but also the ability to adapt if a better way exist to move forward.

How do you approach your relationship with mentors and sponsors from people within your organization or beyond?

I’m constantly pressure testing my thoughts with many of my mentors. I’m a big believer of “you don’t know what you don’t know”, and what better way to learn than from the experience of successful people around you? I take pride in standing on the shoulders of giants.

How would you like to see others inspire inclusion?

By increasing visibility in public settings and sharing stories of excellence. This will increase awareness of all the different possibilities available and promote a culture supporting the power of the role-models. By adapting a famous quote: “You can not be who you can not dream to be”.

What is one piece of practical advice you would give to someone starting out in your team/organization?

To always have a “growing mindset”. Never stop learning, constantly be curious, and try to be exposed to or involved in a variety of projects to continue building skillset and knowledge.
