#InspireInclusion

CG Celebrates Women

In recognition of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, the call to #InspireInclusion extends beyond our workplaces and challenges each of us to find our own ways to help accelerate gender equality and empower women and girls in all aspects of life.

What/Who has been the greatest contributor to your success thus far?

Hard work. Never underestimate how much hard work and curiosity can pay off. If you have a curious mindset, you’ll see that growth opportunities can be everywhere, even in setbacks. Even when something does not go as planned, take a step back and find the lesson.

How do you approach your relationship with mentors and sponsors from people within your organization or beyond?

I have never had a formal mentor, but I’ve had a lot of great support throughout my career because I believe everyone has something to teach. I would love to see more women come forward and ask for guidance. Don’t limit yourself by only looking upward – seek out perspectives that can help you grow.

How would you like to see others inspire inclusion?

Look through unbiased eyes and be open to what others are capable of achieving. Try not to let preconceived notions or past experiences influence your expectations of others.  That can be limiting for them and you.

What is one piece of practical advice you would give to someone starting out in your team/organization?

Don’t wait for someone to give you a seat at the table. Proactively seek out opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills. You can respectfully ask to be included in a meeting or client engagement if you demonstrate genuine curiosity and a growth mindset.
