Summary/Overview
Working within the Financial Services team, you will have the opportunity to provide financial advisory services on a wide range of strategic transactions (including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and re-structuring), capital-raising projects and debt financing mandates to financial institutions.
Working directly on a project by project basis to support the Financial Services team in the origination and execution of corporate advisory transactions. This role will also provide support and guidance to Interns and junior Analysts, where appropriate.
The Role
- Undertaking valuations of businesses using a variety of methodologies, including relative valuation techniques, leverage buyout models and discounted cash flow analyses, and presenting and discussing the results with the project team, clients and prospective clients;
- Undertaking detailed financial modelling and analysis including valuation and assessing the financial impact of transactions;
- Analysing industry and sector trends, commercial analysis of individual businesses and case studies of transactions;
- Drafting and reviewing marketing materials and other documentation including pitches, teasers, information memorandums, management presentations, strategic review papers, valuation papers and admission / prospectus documents;
- Collating comments from the project team, clients and other advisers on materials produced and working with the team to produce revised materials; and
- Involved in transaction process management, supporting Associates / Vice Presidents to ensure projects run smoothly, expected to attend most meetings, and to work directly with the client’s Finance Director and other senior management.
Our Ideal Candidate
- We are seeking a Qualified Chartered Accountant with 2–3 years’ experience in the financial services division of a leading accountancy firm, or a candidate with at least 18 months’ experience in M&A at an investment bank or boutique, ideally within a Financial Institutions team.
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent with a minimum 2:1 grade.
- Completion of CISI Level 3 Certification in Corporate Finance would be advantageous.
- Highly numerate.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbally.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Highly organised and reliable, self-starter, motivated and ambitious.
- Team player capable of fitting in with the collegiate culture.
- Valuation and financial modelling experience.
- Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills.

Working within our Advisory Investment Banking team this exciting role will provide the opportunity to support Managing Directors in the M&A team based at our Wood Street office by effectively managing their schedules and supporting them in their responsibilities in a busy environment, where performance, teamwork and culture are all highly valued.
Summary
To provide support to senior level investment banking by effectively managing schedules and performing a wide variety of responsible, complex and confidential administrative, secretarial, analytical and research duties.
Responsibilities:
- Extensive diary management – booking client meetings/ lunches/conference calls etc., organising meetings.
- Telephone and email screening / dealing with clients / others.
- Arranging travel/accommodation both in the UK and elsewhere.
- Collating, inputting, processing and distributing information as required.
- CRM system updating.
- Expenses administration.
- Typing notes, presentations, e-mails (including audio typing when required).
- Adhering to all relevant operational procedures and company policies and taking an active part in ensuring these are followed e.g. compliance procedures; filing procedures and contributing to the maintenance of the Company's databases.
- Providing holiday/absence cover across other Personal Assistants when required.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Candidates should have at least 5 years’ experience working at a senior level in professional or financial services (ideally within investment banking).
- Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Word Skills.
- Experience of CRM system would be preferable.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters.
