Exploring the future - an ageing world

As wealth managers, we think about the future – whether it’s helping our clients to plan for old age or investing in companies that will still be profitable in 30 years’ time.

As part of ‘exploring the future’, we spoke to different experts to find out what long-term trends are they seeing and how these might affect your long-term financial plans and investments.

Interview with Dan Holden, senior research fellow, International Longevity Centre

The International Longevity Centre is an independent think-tank dedicated to ageing and population change. We asked Dan about the impact of increased life expectancy and how this might change how we live our lives. Will the concept of retirement disappear? And will three-year-olds really need to start saving now for later life? What will the financial services industry and government need to do to help people plan and make decisions for their long-term future?

Watch the video to find out more about Dan’s thoughts on our ageing world.
